Kia Motors is proud to have two of its car models in the list of the top 20 green friendly cars in Australia. The Kia Rio and the Kia Soul are on this list created by the Australian Government. They both receive five stars, the highest possible grade.
The concept of green cars or also called eco-friendly cars is found in all cycles of a cars’ life. From the design period through to recycling, Kia Motors Australia has been creating innovative products, ensuring state-of-the-art Design for Recycling (DfR) guiding principle in all car models.
Every time is possible, recyclable and recycled materials are used in the fabrication of every single Kia vehicle. Still at the end of the vehicle’s existence, one of Kia’s environmental goals is the eco-friendly return and handling of end-of-life vehicles.
One example of a technology that is at this time in progress of creation is Idle Stop and Go(ISG), which automatically turns the engine off when the vehicle is stopped or going forwards in a speed of less than 4km/h. According to some studies, in a typical city driving this is going to cut fuel expenditure by up to 15%.
